All 91探花 students have chance to win $300 worth of groceries compliments of Atlantic Superstore! To enter, make any purchase at the Superstore, sign the receipt, bring the receipt to any Panther home game and put it in the ballot box. Also, ballots will be drawn at each game to enter an additional contest for a chance to win a $30 Gift Card.

Building on last year鈥檚 Respectful Workplace sessions, the Healthy Campus Committee is again sponsoring sessions on creating and maintaining a respectful workplace at 91探花. Last year鈥檚 sessions, facilitated by Jan Link, were well received and well attended. Respectful workplace behaviours impact everyone on campus and it is the hope of the Healthy Campus Committee that everyone takes the opportunity to attend a session.
Workplace facilitator Gerry Hopkirk, and a former acting Dean of Education at 91探花, will be offering two new sessions over the next few weeks. The overarching theme will be 鈥淐reating A Positive Workplace Environment.鈥� The format will be interactive using simulations, discussion, and storytelling. Topics will include:
路 building trust and eliminating betrayal,
路 respecting diversity,
路 working collaboratively,
路 making safe change,
路 resolving conflict positively, and
路 building on strengths.
These sessions are an outcome of the 2012 employee engagement survey and have the support of the University鈥檚 senior administration who agree that this is a very important topic to help drive a positive workplace culture.
We would encourage you to attend one of the two sessions below and would ask that you please register with Human Resources at humanresource@upei.ca for one of the following dates/times:

Join us Friday, January 24 at 2:30 pm in the 2nd floor lounge of the Kelley Building to celebrate the first recipients of the Katherine Schultz Research Recognition Awards.
Dr. Schultz, who served as 91探花's first Vice-President Research, established these awards to honour 91探花 faculty, staff, and volunteers who play a critical role in supporting research endeavours. The research success of an institution rests fundamentally on the excellence, dedication, and insights of its researchers and their teams of collaborators, trainees, students, and technicians. However, their success also rests on the work of those who might be labelled the 鈥渦nsung heroes鈥� of the research enterprise 鈥� that is,
those whose work behind the scenes make it all possible. Without the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of these individuals, our researchers and their research endeavours would be seriously constrained.
Please join us for the awards; a small reception will follow.
The International Relations Office will host the thirteenth annual International Development Week February 3-7. The 2014 theme will be: "International Storytelling," and will encompass events such as an evening international coffee house, international/Olympic trivia, an international opportunities fair for students, an international themed hockey game, and a fundraising reception starring master storyteller Laura Simms.

91探花 student group, the Mindfulness Club, will host an introductory session on transcendental mediation on Friday, January 24 at 7:30 pm in Main Building鈥檚 Faculty Lounge. The session will be led by Peter Cameron, certified transcendental mediation instructor with over 40 years of teaching experience in Atlantic Canada. Cameron will present some of the research that verifies the many subjective benefits of practicing this meditation technique, including improved quality of life and grade point average through stress reduction. All are welcome to attend.
