The next deadline for submitting Biosafety Protocols including new applications, renewals, and/or amendments, is Friday February 28. These protocols will be reviewed at the March meeting. On Saturday, February 15, why not come out and "Learn and Play the Panther Way" -- from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, and 2:00-4:00 pm, the Panther Academy will be showcasing offerings from our upcoming March Break camps. From 'Cake Boss' to 'Dazzling Designs,' to 'Fun & Fitness,' senior camp counsellors are onsite offering mini sessions in these camps. Camp ages are pre-school to grade six. Although 91̽»¨ is closed on Monday, we're open and pleased to offer free access to our indoor walking track to all! As well, from 1:00-3:00 pm, all those 14 years and under are invited to come 'Play with the Panthers.' From shooting hoops with the varsity basketball players, to playing with our Panther Women's Volleyball team, we hope to see you here!
Over the last several weeks, Dr. Gerry Hopkirk, former Dean of Education at 91̽»¨ and workplace facilitator has been offering sessions on "Creating A Positive Workplace Environment." Feedback tells us that these sessions are valuable and time well spent. Due to demand, another session will be offered on: Monday, February 24, from 2:00 - 4:00 (location tbd) If you have not had an opportunity to attend a session, we would encourage you to do so. On Wednesday, February 19 at 12:00 pm, 91̽»¨'s Dr. Ed MacDonald will present an illustrated luncheon talk entitled "Cradling Confederation: The Founding of the Confederation Centre of the Arts" at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown. This presentation will introduce attendees to the story behind the Centre that is now celebrating its golden jubilee this year. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Box Office at the Confederation Centre, More information on the presentation: Fifty years ago this year, in 1964, on the 100th anniversary of the historic Charlottetown Conference, the Fathers of Confederation Memorial Buildings were opened in Charlottetown as a living memorial to Confederation's founders. The arts complex cost $5.6 million, and was cost-shared on a per capita basis by the federal government of Canada and the Dominion's ten provinces. How the complex we know today as the Confederation Centre of the Arts came to be is a remarkable, even improbable story, of converging trends, clever salesmanship, backroom intrigue, and audacious national vision.

The campus community is invited to dance together to support the movement. Join us in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre from 12:15–1:00 pm. ONE BILLION RISING began as a call to action in 2013 based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than one billion women and girls. One billion women and those who love them will walk out, dance, rise up, and demand an end to this violence. Learn more at . Both the Advisory Council on the Status of Women and PEI Family Violence Prevention Services (PEI FVPS) will be present as community representatives and supporters. One of the highlights of her performance at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall will be the Rachmaninoff Preludes Opus 32. Sarah has been heard in concert halls and on the airwaves to critical acclaim throughout North America and Europe. Her interpretations have been described as "outstandingly inventive," performed with "infinite skill." The Professor Emeritus Evaluation Committee will consider all nominees and forward its recommendations to Senate. Senate is the final approval body and will notify nominees of its decision.
