The next deadline for submitting Biosafety Protocols including new applications, renewals and/or amendments, is Friday January 30, 2015. These protocols will be reviewed at the February meeting. Please ensure that you download and use the current forms from . Use Adobe Reader to complete the forms. Submit one hard copy of the original protocol with signatures, and associated documents to 200 Kelley Memorial Building and send one e-copy of all documents to reb@upei.ca. As we begin this new year, we would like to remind employees that all documentations for Accounts Payable should be submitted either via internal mail or left in the Drop Box which is conveniently located outside the Accounting Office main doors. As well, please be reminded the normal turnaround time for processing of travel and expense claims, PDTR, Petty Cash and other employee expense claims is approximately two weeks, provided the documentation is completed according to 91̽»¨ policies and procedures. If there are concerns with the documentation, this could result in a delay in the processing time. Payments to Canadian and US Suppliers: -Canadian and US suppliers are paid once every 30 days, again provided that all documentation is properly completed. -As cheque runs for US suppliers occurs every second Tuesday, it would be greatly appreciated if you allow sufficient lead time in getting your documentation to Accounts Payable to ensure that we continue to meet the 30-day turnaround. The Department of Pathology and Microbiology invites you to attend seminars by Dr. Ashutosh Verma, Research Scientist, Trudeau Institute, Saranac Lake, NY on January 26 and January 27, 2015. Dr. Verma is a candidate for a tenure track Clinical Bacteriologist position, Competition #18A14. His teaching seminar will be at 10:30 am on Monday, January 26 in AVC-A and is titled "Lyme disease in Animals." His diagnostic seminar will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in AVC-C and is titled "Evolution of Clinical Microbiology - Are we there yet?" Everyone is welcome.

Have you signed up to receive your electronic T4 slip? If you completed the consent form for the 2013 tax year, you will automatically receive your 2014 tax slip electronically. There is no need to complete the consent form again. Online tax slips will be available, through Campus Login, to current and former employees, who received taxable earnings or benefits in 2014. Online T4s are official tax slips accepted by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). However, CRA requires employees to give their consent in order to access their tax slips electronically. Your consent will be valid for all subsequent tax years. New employees can grant consent for online T4s after they have received their first pay cheque. Employees who do not provide consent will have their 2014 T4s mailed to the address on file no later than February 28, 2015. Electronic T4s will be available sooner than the printed versions due to a lesser processing time. The consent form can be accessed through Campus Login () For employees who file their taxes electronically, printing the slip is optional. You will be able to read the values for each of the tax slip boxes online as you are completing your income tax return. You will always have access to slips under Campus Login should you need them now or in the future.
