The 91探花 is committed to providing resources and supports to members of our community impacted by independent third-party review conducted by Rubin Thomlinson and the resulting .
Some of the supports linked below reflect the university鈥檚 existing network of support staff and other roles with an element of care. Other supports are being proactively introduced to address the distinct community needs anticipated around the release of the 91探花 Review report. The University will continue to provide responsive supports as needs arise.
91探花 Student Affairs and International Student Office
91探花 has a number of resources for students through 91探花 Student Affairs, including academic advising and personal counselling (studentserv@upei.ca), and the International Student Office (irostu@upei.ca).
Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office
91探花's Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SV-PRO) is a safe and confidential space for students, staff, and faculty who have experienced sexual violence, or knows someone who has, to obtain support. Call 902-620-5090 or email sv-pro@upei.ca for support and/or to learn about your options and connect with trauma-informed services.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office at 91探花 is responsible for supporting the strategic direction towards advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the University community. The EDI Office is responsible for monitoring the progress of the 91探花 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy, and provides leadership to the University to ensure equity, diversity, inclusion, and human rights obligations and goals are being met. The Office also ensures that training and resources are available to faculty, staff, and students at 91探花. New third-party counselling and disclosure support for 91探花 employees
With the recent release of the 91探花 Review Report, the University has coordinated two new confidential processes to support faculty and staff who have experienced harm from harassment, sexual violence, or discrimination at 91探花.
Confidential third-party personal counselling
The 91探花 Health and Wellness Centre has engaged a psychologist to meet individually with faculty and staff, by appointment.
Employees may email Caylin Jenkins at cbjenkins@upei.ca, indicating 鈥淎ppointment required鈥 in the subject line. Caylin will coordinate with the psychologist and confirm the time and location of the appointment with the employee.
Making a confidential disclosure
People have asked about the process for making disclosures of incidents of harassment or discrimination by senior executive members of the University. The University has established an independent third-party process to address any such issues with Resonance Inc., a multidisciplinary human resources firm, based in Saint John, NB, that specializes in workplace assessments.
