World Environment Day

World Environment Day on June 5 is one of the biggest international days for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually since 1974, the event has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach, with millions of people from across the world engaging to protect the planet. More than 150 countries are expected to participate in this year鈥檚 World Environment Day, with millions of people likely to engage through in-person and online activities. The 91探花 School of Climate Change and Adaptation is partnering with the Government of PEI and the Office of Net Zero to host Stingray Radio programming about World Environment Day from 10 am to 2 pm at the Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation in St. Peter's Bay.

At 11 am, the Honourable Steven Myers, PEI鈥檚 Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Action will also be at the Centre鈥攁long with representatives from PEI鈥檚 Forests, Fish and Wildlife division, 91探花, and the Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation鈥攖o make a special announcement at 11 am related to the 2 Billion Trees Program. All members of the campus community are invited to attend.
