Introductory Programming: Unix Shell, Version Control and Python workshop
91探花 faculty and staff are welcome to attend a free online ACENET workshop, "Introductory Programming: Unix Shell, Version Control and Python," which will be held on September 27 and 29, and October 4 and 6, from 12 noon to 4 pm.
This is a beginner-level, hands-on series based on Software Carpentry materials (software-carpentry.org) It covers the fundamentals of Python including data types, conditional statements, loops and functions, as well as program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems. The goal is to teach the practical knowledge needed to start programming, debugging and using Python in everyday tasks.
