Travel Insurance – SSQ Insurance will become Beneva
Are you travelling?
You must notify Health PEI (or corresponding provincial program) if you will be travelling outside of the province or country and your absence will exceed one month. For more information on Health PEI coverage requirements, please or contact them at 1-800-321-5492. It is important to note that to maintain your provincial coverage, you MUST be in the province for 182 days per year (6 months) or your provincial coverage will lapse. If you submit a claim and you do not have provincial health coverage, your requirements under the eligibility of insurance would preclude you from being insured under the SSQ travel plan. (SSQ Travel Policy 1L960 & 1L965: page 9, Eligibility of Insurance).

COVID-19 SSQ Travel Health Insurance Updates
- COVID-19 Update – SSQ Travel Insurance coverage (December 2021)
Following the recent Government announcement about non-essential out-of-country travel, our SSQ Emergency Medical Policies do not have any Government advisory exclusion(s), and therefore, travel insurance is in place for both essential and non-essential travel. However, the cost of a PCR test and quarantine (in a hotel) is not covered under our policy. Should you contract Covid-19 and require medical care, the cost will be covered as per the terms and conditions of our travel policy.
We strongly recommend that you stay informed and consult the Government advisory website regularly especially as it relates to entry and exit requirements:
Please review the previous January 2021 notice from SSQ that confirms what COVID-19 related costs are and are not covered by the travel insurance policy.
