This position will have a matrix reporting relationship with the Manager of HR and the Chief Operating Officer, Faculty of Medicine.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Officer is responsible for all aspects of human resources including recruiting and hiring staff, providing guidance on employee relations issues, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, collective agreements, labor laws and regulations. This position will be the primary contact for the Faculty of Medicine and will provide leadership to the campus in workforce planning and HR policy.
- Work as the liaison between the Faculty of Medicine and Human Resources this includes such things as;
- Supporting organizational development including job descriptions and classification
- Coordinating the hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making job offers
- Support employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure new staff members are integrated into the university community.

- Provide direct support with workplace planning to campus leadership.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to HR management, in collaboration with leadership and other stakeholders.
- Promoting diversity and inclusion through various actions and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Overall, a combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and personal qualities will be considered.
- Bachelor's Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field
- Proven experience in organizational development, HR policy, labour relations and talent acquisition.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build relationships.
Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engagement initiatives
