The Department of Physics is seeing one research assistant to work on a project using computer simulation methods to study the physical properties of polymer systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Writing and/or modifying a molecular Monte Carlo simulation program designed to investigate the dynamics and conformational behavior of polymers in confined and crowded environments
  • Generating data using the simulation program by carrying out calculations on computer clusters operated by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada
  • Statistical analysis of the numerical data and quantitative comparison of the results with analytical theoretical predictions

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Must be a 91̽»¨ student
  • Successful candidate will have completed at least two years of an undergraduate physics program
  • Experience using molecular Monte Carlo computer simulation methods
  • Previous physics research experience
  • Experience with programming in C/C++ or related language

 

Priority will be given to 91̽»¨ students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
