Student Assistant - Program Facilitator and Tutor (Up To 3 Positions) - Faculty of Education
$21.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
October 31, 2024 – March 14, 2025
The 91̽»¨ Faculty of Education is seeking up to three education students to help facilitate school-age programs which are part of the Literacy and Numeracy Outreach Project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in training and program development sessions
- Plan and deliver arts and play-based after-school tutoring sessions to help support the literacy and numeracy needs of school-age children
- Work closely with families to foster a sense of community and a supportive, active learning environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful candidate(s) will be enrolled in a 91̽»¨ undergraduate program
- Previous experience and or training in early years and early childhood education
- Knowledge of early numeracy and early literacy development
- Understanding of social and emotional learning
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
- An understanding of play pedagogy, project-based learning and holistic education would be considered an asset
- A Bachelor of Education degree will be considered an asset
- A valid driver’s license and transportation are required to travel to different program sites. Students will receive mileage compensation
Priority will be given to 91̽»¨ students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
