The 91̽»¨ Faculty of Education is seeking up to three education students to help facilitate school-age programs which are part of the Literacy and Numeracy Outreach Project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in training and program development sessions
  • Plan and deliver arts and play-based after-school tutoring sessions to help support the literacy and numeracy needs of school-age children
  • Work closely with families to foster a sense of community and a supportive, active learning environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidate(s) will be enrolled in a 91̽»¨ undergraduate program
  • Previous experience and or training in early years and early childhood education
  • Knowledge of early numeracy and early literacy development
  • Understanding of social and emotional learning
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
  • An understanding of play pedagogy, project-based learning and holistic education would be considered an asset
  • A Bachelor of Education degree will be considered an asset
  • A valid driver’s license and transportation are required to travel to different program sites. Students will receive mileage compensation

Priority will be given to 91̽»¨ students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
