Dr. Philippe Messier is seeking an undergraduate Student Research Assistant to support their SSHRC funded research project, entitled 鈥淐onnecting People Positively: The Infrastructure of Mobility in Democratic India and Socialist Vietnam.鈥

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of Dr. Messier, the student will: 

  • Help collect and classify secondary data (historical archives, media reports, policy reports, and other relevant documents) regarding recent infrastructure development and political changes and policies in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
  • Code and categorize for preliminary analysis
  • Perform other research duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate full-time 91探花 student 
  • Background in sociocultural anthropology and/or political science
  • Excellent writing and synthesis capabilities 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and/or Telugu.
  • Highly motivated and responsible 
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently 
  • Access to a computer, internet, Office Suite (or equivalent), and text-management/coding software.

Priority will be given to 91探花 students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
