The Atlantic Veterinary College is looking to hire a Vet Camp Junior Student Coordinator for the 2024 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp 2024 (AVC Vet Camp).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Junior Student Coordinator will:

  • Assist the AVC Vet Camp Senior Coordinator, the External Engagement Assistant, and the External Engagement Officer in coordinating, planning, and scheduling all activities for the Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp 2024 (AVC Vet Camp)
  • Assist the Senior Coordinator with communicating with camp participants and their parents and will assist with the day-to-day operations of AVC Vet Camp when in progress
  • Although AVC Vet Camp will be the Junior Coordinator鈥檚 main priority, the position will also be required to assist in other events and special projects including the AVC White Coat Ceremony and Awards Night, and potential NSERC PromoScience project activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) student is required for this position
  • Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Needs to be a self-starter, enthusiastic and creative
  • Must be mature, able to exercise sound judgment and have a demonstrated ability to teach and motivate children
  • Able to work effectively with their peers
  • Prior experience in event planning and supervising others would be preferred
  • Familiarity with animals and animal handling required
  • Knowledge of the 91探花 Campus would be an asset
  • First aid certification also preferred

Priority will be given to 91探花 students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
