Saves for Mental Health
Watch this CTV interview about a fundraiser created by 91探花 Women鈥檚 Hockey student-athlete Camille 'Schugs' Scherger with 100% of proceeds going to the PEI division of the Canadian Mental Health Association
Date: 2021鈥2022 91探花 Women鈥檚 Hockey season
Time: Anytime
Watch: Live interview with Schugs on CTV News Atlantic鈥檚 鈥淚nside the AUS鈥 segment on Monday, January 24:
Description: From Camille 鈥楽chugs鈥 Scherger: 鈥淚鈥檓 the goalie for the 91探花 Women鈥檚 hockey team. I鈥檓 proud to announce a mental health initiative I am starting up called 鈥楽aves for Mental Health鈥. I'm super excited to have the Gray Group on board with this initiative and they will be donating $1 to the Canadian Mental Health Association for each save my goalie partners and I make during the 2021/22 season.
The mental side of being a goalie has always been of interest to me, but when looking at the big picture, I realized when I鈥檓 away from the rink, out of the lights when nobody can see you, that鈥檚 when mental health really takes over. Mental health is so important to me and I have been lucky enough to have resources and great family and friends as a support system, and I want to help those who need and deserve support who are less fortunate than I have been.
I hope this initiative can help raise money and more importantly keep up the conversation on why and how to take care of our mental health. 100% of all proceeds are going directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association and stays local in PEI. Thank you for supporting Saves for Mental Health!" .
