We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2024 in May during in-person Convocation Ceremonies at the 91̽»¨ Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre!


Accessibility

If a guest of a graduate requires special seating or other arrangements for the ceremony due to a disability, please contact Stephanie Knickle at 902-566-0305 or email sknickle@upei.ca.

Please note that there is a "designated" drop off area to allow easier access into the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Please ask 91̽»¨ security officers, who will be directing traffic on campus, for directions.

Accommodations

Stay in one of our convenient residence buildings with excellent amenities: 91̽»¨â€™s Bill and Denise Andrew Hall or our Performing Arts Centre and Residence. 

Andrew Hall offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites with each room featuring a double bed, private washroom, kitchenette, air conditioning, and wi-fi. 91̽»¨â€™s newest residence stands as one of Charlottetown's tallest buildings and offers exceptional views of the entire city, the waterfront and the surrounding countryside. The new residence offers a variety of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, also including a double bed in each room, private washrooms, kitchenettes, air conditioning, and wi-fi. In addition to the suites, there are fully furnished lounges on the floors throughout the building.

Convocation rates will be posted closer to Convocation.

Invitations 

Invitations are collected at the door. Guests must have their invitation to gain admittance and to be assured of a seat. Guests must be seated at least fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony start time. Please note: Seating is strictly limited by fire safety regulations.

Mass Celebration and Gathering

Graduates and families of graduates from all faith backgrounds are welcome to attend the traditional Roman Catholic "Convocation Mass". Please refer to the 91̽»¨ Grad Week and Convocation Schedule

Parking

For guests, there is plenty of parking close to the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre (within a 5- to 10-minute walk)—please refer to the  for the location of general parking areas on campus (Parking Lots A, B, C, D, and E). Please arrive early as you must be seated at least fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony start time and before graduates arrive in their procession.

There are a number of accessible parking spots, designated by the International Symbol of Access (wheelchair symbol), situated in front of the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre and the W.A. Murphy Student Centre. 

Photography and Video

Guests are welcome to video and take photos of the Convocation ceremonies in several designated locations.

Reception following Convocation ceremony

Immediately following each Convocation ceremony, there will be a reception in McMillan Hall in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Graduates, students, staff, faculty, friends, and family are welcome.
