The following message was distributed on January 2, 2021, on behalf of the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Research and the Office of the Vice-President Administration and Finance.

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Happy New Year and we hope that you had some time over the holiday break to recharge for 2021.

In reaction to the 鈥淐ircuit Breaker鈥 measures announced by the Government of Prince Edward Island in December, the University implemented measures similar to those announced for Stage One of 91探花鈥檚 Ease-Back Plan. 91探花 moved back to an essential services model, where only a limited number of employees remained working on campus.

Because the PEI Chief Public Health Office (PEI CPHO) alleviated some of its 鈥淐ircuit Breaker鈥 restrictions on December 18, 2020, 91探花 will now be able to resume Stage Three operations, with all employees returning to work on campus, effective January 4, 2021.

  • 91探花 will continue to follow public health guidance including limiting gathering size, employing physical distancing (2m/6ft), and wearing masks in indoor public spaces.

  • 91探花 will limit in-person meeting size to a maximum of 15 people, if such gatherings are necessary and if public health guidance is followed. However, it is encouraged that meetings are held virtually and/or online.

  • 91探花-organized events may resume for up to 50 people, once approved by the Vice-President Administration and Finance, and if public health guidance is followed.

  • The 91探花 Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre and the Robertson Library will re-open for in-person services, following respective PEI CPHO guidelines for fitness centres and libraries.

  • Campus buildings, will be unlocked from 8 am鈥5 pm, with exceptions made for scheduled classes, laboratories, and other approved activity. (Staff, faculty, researchers, and graduate students are able to enter buildings outside of these hours, using their Salto proximity card, maintaining physically distancing (2m/6ft).)

We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure our measures are in keeping with those of the PEI Chief Public Health Office.

Sincerely,

Jackie Podger
