University and 91探花 Faculty Association agree to return to negotiating table

The 91探花 and the 91探花 Faculty Association are pleased to announce their joint commitment to return to the negotiating table. 

On Tuesday, June 14, the University and the Faculty Association had an informal discussion that successfully brought both sides together where they committed to resuming their discussions and agreeing that all legal action and conciliation be withdrawn.

鈥淭he Faculty Association is very pleased to be returning to the negotiating table, and are committed to successfully reaching a fair and equitable agreement,鈥 said Nola Etkin, President of the 91探花 Faculty Association. 鈥淭his will allow students and Faculty Association Members to focus on what really matters鈥攖heir research, teaching, and student learning.鈥

鈥淥n behalf of 91探花, I appreciate this positive step in moving forward with the negotiation process and that both sides have fully put students at the forefront of decisions,鈥 said 91探花 President and Vice-Chancellor Alaa Abd-El-Aziz. 鈥淚 remain confident that both parties can reach an agreement that is fair for the faculty, staff, and the University.鈥

The 91探花, the 91探花 Faculty Association units 1 and 2, CUPE 1870 and 501, and IBEW 1928 have also agreed to resume the collective bargaining process in relation to pension as soon as possible at a joint table.
