91探花 Athletics and Recreation announced the 91探花 Panther Athletes of the Week for the week of September 16-22. 91探花 Athletics and Recreation showcases these talented athletes to recognize their hard work and dedication to their respective sports throughout the seasons. 91探花 Athletes of the Week are also nominated to Atlantic University Sport and Canadian Interuniversity Sport for possible mention in the region and/or country.
Who: Katherine Koughan, Women's Field Hockey and Chris Desousa, Men's Hockey
What: 91探花 Panther Athletes of the Week
When: Week of September 16-22
Why: During the first Atlantic University Field Hockey Tournament, Koughan played with poise and confidence controlling the play from the sweeper position. Her calm confidence with the ball settled the play and created many offensive opportunities for her teammates. Koughan dribbled the ball through many defenders to score her first goal of the season. She played a major role in both defensive and offensive penalty corners. On the offensive side, she was the stick stopper and helped the team score multiple times on offensive penalty corner chances. Koughan is a second-year student from Stratford and is enrolled in the bachelor of business administration program.
