Axworthy speaks at 91探花, September 23
Global Issues 151 and the Faculty of Education are sponsoring a lecture by Dr. Lloyd Axworthy called "Libya and the Principle of R2P."
The former Canadian politician, prominent statesman, Order of Canada recipient, and international leader in the fight against the use of landmines is currently president at the University of Winnipeg. He is in Charlottetown to attend the installation of his former colleague Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz as 91探花's sixth president and vice-chancellor the next day.
Dr. Axworthy served as minister of Foreign Affairs in the Chr茅tien government and president of the UN Security Council, and is well-regarded as Canada's authority on global issues.
