AVC currently has a male beagle named Roddy available for adoption. He is two years old, neutered, and vaccinated; a dental cleaning will be included with his adoption. Roddy is a silly puppy with a lot of energy and loves to run and play. He loves to play with other beagles and has not shown any signs of aggression. However, Roddy doesn鈥檛 always pick up on other dog鈥檚 social cues, and sometimes other dogs become agitated with his playfulness.
Roddy would thrive in a house with a family that is able to spend a lot of time training and exercising him. It is preferable that he is placed in a home where the owners are home most of the day. Single-pet and multi-pet households would be considered if it was the right fit.
If you are interested in learning more about Roddy, please contact Melissa Hamel at mhamel@upei.ca or 902-566-0938, or fill out the online adoption application at .
As a consensus value, peace is about freedom from harm, want, and oppression, and promotes safety, prosperity, and quality of life for all. It involves the meaningful engagement of civil society and government in systems, policies, and practices through multidimensional, multidisciplinary, and collaborative efforts addressing justice, equity, poverty, food security, and environmental protection.
On the International Day of Peace (September 21), we are organizing a series of events on the theme, Together for Peace, from sunrise to sunset, bringing together members of the community to advance peace through music and songs, promotion of disarmament, a souvenir giveaway, gentle yoga and meditation for wellness, and a panel discussion. These events are open to all in the community and are held at different locations including 91探花, Holland College, and Victoria Park, to encourage maximum participation.
Building the infrastructure of peace is a long-drawn legacy-building effort that is strengthened with everyone鈥檚 unique contribution. 91探花 is a proud supporter of this peace-promoting initiative. How each one of us promotes peace is reflective of the challenges and the needs in our families and local community. Through the use of art, music, dialogue, discussions, discourses, and collective action, we gain a deeper understanding and broader perspective to reach mutually appreciable agreements, solve problems, resolve conflicts, and build a better more sustainable place for all to thrive and realize their full potential.
The COVID-19 pandemic has given us a wake-up call and presented us with an opportunity to implement new ideas and strategies and collaboratively rebuild stronger while embracing inclusive diversity and furthering gender equity and social justice.

The 91探花 Teaching and Learning Centre is setting up a series of Teaching Squares for the Fall 2022 semester. Teaching squares are interdisciplinary groups of instructors from a range of career stages and appointments. Participants visit the classes of their teaching square colleagues to observe and reflect on their own teaching. Participation involves three class visits to colleagues' classes, welcoming these same colleagues to your own classes, and two meetings at the beginning and end to discuss goals and share reflections. In addition to helpful insights from taking time to reflect on teaching practices, this is a terrific way to demonstrate your efforts to continue to grow as an instructor for tenure and promotion purposes. Each teaching square is limited to four colleagues. Please email TLC@upei.ca to indicate your interest.
